Côte d'ivoire's electoral roll on internet next week

The Independent Election Commission (CEI) in Côte d'Ivoire said on Friday that the provisional electoral roll can be officially viewed on the internet and through SMS or phone calls next week.

CEI said in a statement in Abidjan that emergency measures were being taken to facilitate this operation to people who had registered to check the provisional voters' roll.

While giving assurance that once these technological means are strengthened they will be be available all day, CEI apologized to Ivorians for the overloading of several telephone networks since the operation was announced.

During his press briefing on the electoral process held on Wednesday, the chairm an of CEI, Robert Beugre Mambe declared that the provisional electoral roll would be available for consultation by SMS, internet and phone calls from Friday.
