Socialist party wins Cape Verde polls, News 24 (2011)

This article reports on the results of the Sunday elections in Cape Verde. The African Party for the Independence of Cape Verde (PAICV) won an absolute majority of the votes, and Prime Minister Jose Maria Neves expressed his satisfaction and gratitude. Opposition leader Carlos Veiga, 61, acknowledged his party's defeat immediately and congratulated his opponent.
