The President is elected by Congress to serve a 4-year term. In the Congress, 4 members are elected by popular vote to serve 4-year terms and 10 members are elected by popular vote via proportional representation to serve 2-year terms.

The last election for Congress was held on 6 March 2007. Only non-partisans were elected. Immanuel Mori was elected President by Congress on 11 May 2007, defeating incumbent Joseph Urusemal. Alik K. Alik was elected Vice-President.
