Guernsey's State Assembly and Constitution Committee expressed their desire of simplifying the registration process, so that it is easier for people to be registered but also removed from electoral rolls. This suggested change comes as a reaction to the 2008 election, when a number of individuals were left off the roll due to administrative errors. If the changes get adopted, they should be implemented before the 2012 election.

This news article says that a report issued recently by the Pew Center on the States finds that nationwide, more than 1.8 million deceased people are currently registered to vote. The study also found nearly 3 million voters were registered in multiple states.
