India: Assocham for national fund for elections, The Hindu (2011)
This article reports on a proposal to created a national body for funding elections in India and to enforce ceilings for election expenses. Assocham, an industry body, presented this proposal to make political funding more transparent. According to this proposed law, political parties would be forced to make public corporate and individual donations, and on the other hand the companies will have to notify the Income Tax Department.
