Prime Minister Thaci's Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) won 5 municipalities in the first round of the local elections that took place on November 15, and were the first elections after Kosovo declared independence from Serbia. 4 municipalities were won by former Prime Minister's Alliance for the Future of Kosovo and 3 by the Democratic League of Kosovo.
