 Monaco elects on national level a legislature (parliament). The National Council (Conseil National) has 24 members, elected for a five year term, 16 elected by a list majority system, 8 by a proportional representation.

2008 Parliamentary Elections

In parliamentary elections held on 3 Feb. 2008 the ruling Union for Monaco won 21 of 24 seats against 3 for the Rally and Issues for Monaco. Turnout was 76·9%.
