Malawi electoral commission appoints a private radio to announce official results, APA (2009)

The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) has appointed Zodiac Broadcasting Station (ZBS) as the official broadcaster of the May 19 general elections amid fears that the state broadcasters, the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) and Television Malawi (TVM) are likely to manipulate results through biased coverage.
