Start of Election Campaign Marred By Violence, All Africa (2009)
The start of the election campaign ahead of Mozambique's general and provincial elections, scheduled for 28 October, was marred by serious acts of violence on Sunday morning when a gang of youths, apparently consisting of supporters of the ruling Frelimo Party, attacked and looted an office of the opposition Mozambique Democratic Movement (MDM) in the southern province of Gaza.
