Namibia: No central announcement of coming election results, The Namibian (2010)

This article reports on a decision of the Electoral Commission regarding next week's regional and local elections. The EC decided not to announce the results from their center in the capital, but to allow each verification center in the constituencies to do it. As a consequence, the final results will be announced in each constituency and at each local authority. The 57 local authorities will also have a verification center each. The electoral authorities had to borrow 6000 ballot boxes from the Zambian electoral commission, as the existing ones have been contested in a pending election challenge. Next week, 1 180 925 registered voters is 106 constituencies will cast their ballots for the regional elections.
