Nigeria: Electoral body keeps candidates waiting, NEXT (2011)
This article reports on the preparations of the April's elections in Nigeria. Since the Independent National Electoral Commission was expected to release the candidates' lists on February 6, anxious politicians and journalists overwhelmed the INEC offices in Abuja. However, the INEC announced that the lists will be released by the state offices as required by the law. Out of the 63 registered parties, eight of them did not meet the deadline and therefore could not submit their lists for consideration.
