Nigeria: INEC to de-register political parties after elections, AllAfrica (2010)

This article reports on the adoption of the Electoral Act 2010 in Nigeria. This bill will have many consequences on the electoral process: as a first step, the INEC will have the power to de-register political parties who fail to win at least a seat in the National Assembly. Currently, there are 62 political parties running in the general elections.
