Nigeria president picks new national election chief, Reuters Africa (2010)

The Council of State has approved president Goodluck Jonathan's nominee for chairman of the Independent National Election Commission (INEC), the appointment must now be confirmed by parliament. Nigeria will hold presidential elections in 2011.
