Nigeria: When will election riggers ever be punished? Vanguard (2010)

This article discusses the role of electoral tribunals in Nigeria. According to the author there is one major flaw in the Nigerian system: the courts make important decisions on electoral cases (like the recent sentence to oust four governors), but they never punish election riggers. The Independent National Electoral Commission should prosecute these offenses (as stated in the 2006 Electoral Law) and according to the author INEC never does so because it would be an admission of its own failure.
