"It is said that people all over the country endorsed and supported the presidential candidacy of Daniel Ortega Saavedra for the upcoming national elections. When questioned on this, respondents have said that it is the only way to maintain the social programs implemented by government since 2007 for the most vulnerable population. In sectors opposed to the Sandinistas, on the other hand, the nomination of Ortega's candidacy was again labeled as illegal."
