New Zealand: Less than half of voters think local electoral system is easy to understand, Voxy (2010)
This article reports on a survey about the upcoming local elections in New Zealand. 43% of the people interviewed stated that the electoral system used in local elections is easy to understand. The system used is a mixed one: First Past the Post and Single Transferable Vote. Many fewer people think that the MMP system adopted for the general election is easy to understand. The survey also showed that 87% of the people over 60 years old are sure that they will go to vote, while only 44% of people under 30 say the same.
