Sudan: SSRC announces amalgamated preliminary results, Southern Sudan Referendum Commission (2011)

In this news; the Southern Sudan Referendum Commission announced today the amalgamated preliminary results of the referendum in the southern and northern states and the eight diaspora countries.The Chairman of the Commission, asserted that percentage of those who have voted for secession in the south stands at 99, 57 and 43% for unity. The percentage of those who have voted for secession in the north is 57, 65%, while the percentage of those who have voted for secession In the eight diaspora countries is 98,55%, and 1,45 supported unity. The total percentage in favour of secession is 98, 83, and 1,17% for unity.
