Turks and Caicos Islands: Elections next year doubtful, TCI Sun (2011)

While officials from the United Kingdom have expressed their intention to hold general elections in 2012, - which would allow the island chain to return to self government - officials are yet to respond to prompts for a proposed date. UK officials have also expressed concerns about the milestones that have to be met before voters go the poll, including a US$20M fiscal surplus.
