Togo moves to block poll protest, Aljazeera (2010)
Togo's government has now made a decision to block the planned March 9, 2010 opposition rally held to protest against the results of the presidential election. Roads to the opposition party's office were blocked to prevent opposition marches. The EU observation mission said there was evidence of ruling party trying to buy off votes by handing out rice to the poor, but overall vote rigging wasn't mentioned.
