It was hoped that the conference will come up with recommendations regarding the following:
- Appropriate roles and opportunities for civil society engagement in the resolution of post-election disputes
- Appropriate mechanisms for civil society engagement in the resolution of post-election disputes;
- A recognition by both continental and regional organizations of the roles that civil society can play in post-election disputes resolution and the creation of the necessary and appropriate frameworks for such engagements across the continent.
