Zanzibar:Mkapa’s position on Z’bar unity vote, Tanzania News (2010)

Referendum planned for Zanzibar later this year, should be given a chance as it might prove to be a solution to perennial instability that has haunted the Indian Ocean archipelago for years, former President Benjamin Mkapa said yesterday. He said for a long time Zanzibar has been embracing the winner takes all policy, but the system has resulted into political instability
