This article discusses the internal elections in a party. During the last primaries of the National Resistance Movement violence broke out, yet they represent a great model of candidate selection and internal party democracy. The NRM Electoral Commission was not not prepared and underestimated the importance and impact of the polls. The author further discusses the concept and the principles behind internal party democracy.
