Civil society activists to lobby AU over Zimbabwe elections, The Zimbabwean (2010)
This article discusses the decision of Zimbabwean activists to lobby the African Union (AU) to ensure future free and fair elections in Zimbabwe. The activists began talks with some African state and government officials in the AU summit in Uganda in order to get the AU involved in the monitoring and observation of the next elections in Zimbabwe. In the 2009 elections, 500 opposition supporters were murdered, and tens of thousands wounded or tortured.
