Carlo F. Accame

Carlo F. Accame was born in 1964 in Lucca (Italy), after a University degree in Political science he worked as researcher at the Istituto di Ricerche sui Problemi dello Stato e delle Istituzioni on the European integration. In 1992 he joined the United Nation Transitional Authority in Cambodia as District Electoral Supervisor. Since then he has worked in the field of elections as a Short and Long Term Observer, Electoral Expert and Deputy Chief Observer for the European Union, Organization for Democratic Institution and Human Rights, United Nation and United Nation Development Project in different continents Africa, Asia, Central America and the former Soviet States. In the field of election he was involved in training Italian militaries, police and civilians, and domestic observers in Asia and Middle East for Eurosservatori, NEEDS, Scuola Superiore di Sant’Anna UNDP. He has published papers on the Nature, functions and future of Observation Missions and The Peacekeeping Mission in Cambodia.
