Jeffrey CarlsonJeffrey Carlson has more than a decade of international development experience with IFES and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. Designing and implementing international democracy and governance initiatives in more than 20 countries throughout the world, he brings vast comparative knowledge and cultural understanding to his current position as Chief of Party for IFES’ Egypt democracy and elections technical assistance project. Prior to assuming this position in August 2007, Carlson managed IFES’ global initiatives on political finance and public ethics. With funding from the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and the United Nations, these initiatives supported efforts by policy makers, governmental regulators, political parties, civil society, media, and academics to develop more transparent, accountable, and credible systems of political integrity. In addition to also managing election-related and civic education programs, Carlson has written and contributed to several publications and to the ACE Electoral Knowledge Network (www.aceproject.org). An honorary member of the Association of Central and Eastern European Election Officials (ACEEEO), Carlson holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from the University of Washington and master’s degree in public management from the University of Maryland. |
