I am Country Director for IFES in Guinea (West Africa) since 2001. Our program revolves around: civil society empowerment and structuration; women, politics and decentralization; youth and citizenship; civic education; electoral education; media and development; media and elections; women and elections; youth and elections; training of electoral management body; training of parliamentarians; political and social dialogue; peace building; conflict prevention. Prior to Guinea I spent several moonths in Côte d'Ivoire to assist in the preparation of the legislative and presidentioal elections. I had spent over 6 years before that in Mali working on women's rights. In Canada I ran a communications office and was active in community activism. I am an active member of the world social movement and helped Guinea organize the 4th Africa Social Forum, the 1st West Africa Social Forum, the 1st Guinea Social Forum.
