Jainaba Bah Sambou

I am Mrs Jainaba Bah Sambou. I was born in old jeshwang in the Kanifing Municipal Council on July 15th 1970 in The Gambia. Am married and blessed with two children, a boy and a girl. I hold an LLB (Hons)in law from Obafemi Awolo University in Nigeria, BL (Hons)also in Nigeria and a post graduate diploma in refuge law in Italy. I have also had various professional trainings in the USA, Asia and Africa. I started my career as a state counsel at the Ministry of Justice of The Gambia and rose to the rank of Solicitor General and Legal Secretary of the Republic of The Gambia. Then I became the First Executive Director of the Gambia Competition Commission. Then in 2010 I began private legal practice and consultancy with my own law firm. As a legal consultant am engaged both nationally and internationally. I have also worked extensively in the gender sector.I served as the legal adviser to the National Women Council of the Gambia. I am also involved in gender and election matters as I recently concluded a consultancy for IDEA in those specific areas. I am currently involved in extensive Private Legal Practice and Consultancy.
