Afghanistan: Period Report, Candidate Nomination for the Wolesi Jirga and Provincial Council Elections, JEMB (2005)

A period report prepared by the Joint Electoral Management Body (JEMB) of Afghanistan on the Candidate Nomination for the 2005 Wolesi Jirga and Provincial Council Elections. The Candidate Nomination period is the first phase of the operational calendar for the 2005 elections. The report concludes that in spite of many challenges the high turnout indicates that the JEMB facilitated a successful Candidate Nomination process.
