New Danish leader to forge "Red bloc" government, Reuters (2011)
The article reports that Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Denmark’s new prime minister, has to reach consensus within the left bloc in the aftermath of the elections of September 15 in order to form the new government. It is the first time in 10 years that the center-right Liberal party is not elected to power and the left-wing Social Democrats have to form the government. It is important to notice that Denmark has elected a female prime minister for the first time in its history.
