Description of Electoral System:

The President is elected by popular vote to serve a 6-year term. In the People's Assembly (Majlis al-Sha'b), 444 members are elected by popular vote to serve a 5-year term and 10 members are appointed by the president to serve a 5-year term. In the Advisory Council (Majlis al-Shura), 176 members are elected  by popular vote to serve a 6-year term and 88 members are appointed
by the president to serve a 6-year term.
