Alicia KamaraMy name is Alicia Kamara, and I am from Sierra Leone. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, a Master’s degree in Peace and Development, and I am an alumnus of the King's College Peace and Security Fellowship for African Women. I have worked actively on elections in West Africa for the past seven years in various capacities; as a long-term international observer with ECOWAS, providing technical support to EMBs in West Africa as a consultant and as an election’s administrator. In my country, I worked with the National Electoral Commission as Chief of Gender and Disability, where I pioneered gender reforms for the Commission. I am a training facilitator on Elections (Elections in Peacebuilding initiatives) and a long-term election expert (Gender, Conflict and core team expert) for the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) respectively. Currently, I am a Regional Elections Adviser in Afghanistan working for UNDP. I am experienced in Planning and implementation of Election Management Designs and Standard Operating Procedures, particularly in areas of coordination, training, conflict prevention, mainstreaming gender dimensions, and election monitoring and observation. |
