|   Male Member of NGO/Civil Society Organization | Peter Aling'oPeter Aling'o is a legal practitioner of 20 years and also an expert in International Law, Human Rights, democracy, governance and electoral process issues. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree Honours from the University of Nairobi and Master of Laws in International Law fro the University of Hull from the United Kingdom. He has practiced law for several years and also worked with civil society in Kenya for many years in the areas of human rights, democracy, governance and electoral processes. He has managed and participated in monitoring and observation of many elections in Kenya and the Africa region. He is also a certified and fully accredited BRIDGE trainer and facilitator. Mr. Aling'o is currently the Executive Director, Institute for Education in Democracy, a premier civil society organization in Kenya that focuses on management of electoral processes, capacity strengthening for electoral managers, observers and other stakeholders, civic and voter education, capacity building for citizens for effective and efficient participation in elections, elections monitoring and observation, technical support to institutions that focus and impact on elections and research. He is also a founder and Steering Committee Member of the Elections Observation Group (ELOG) in Kenya. |
