Chris Cobb

Chris Cobb is an award-winning Journalist, Communications Specialist, teacher and author with particular expertise in election campaigns, political communication and issues surrounding emerging democracies. From Jan-March 2015, Chris was Communications Advisor to the Lesotho Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), Southern Africa, contracted by the Commonwealth Secretariat, U.K. He developed and successfully implemented communications and social/conventional media strategies before and after the National Assembly election Feb 28 working directly with three IEC commissioners, IEC management and with outside agencies, including UNDP and European Union consultants. In 2011, Chris was a Commonwealth Election Observer in Uganda and a member of the Commonwealth Expert Group observing the Gambia national election. In 2016 Chris returned to Uganda as a member of the Commonwealth's election observer mission. Reporting for the Ottawa Citizen, one of Canada’s largest daily newspapers, for more than 25 years, Chris has specialized in political reporting, analyzing and writing about communications strategies during election campaigns and is a renowned specialist on that topic. Chris had led election workshops and seminars for political journalists in many countries.
