Diondra MusgraveAs a rising young professional, I plan to make an impact in three interrelated fields: Education; Elections; and Global Affairs. Educated global citizens voting in free and fair elections will make for a better world, and I want to see that happen. In 2014, I earned a Bachelor’s of Arts at George Mason University in Global Affairs, with a concentration in Global Governance. From 2011 to 2016, I worked in increasingly more senior organizing, outreach, and management roles supporting progressive candidates in local, state-wide, and national political campaigns: President Barack Obama (2011-2012), Senator Cory Booker (2013), Senator Mark Warner (2014), Alexandria, VA City Councilman John Chapman (2015), and Lt.-Governor Anthony Brown (2015-2016). In those five years, I rose from a college campus organizer to serve as the Field Outreach Director for the (successful) Anthony Brown for Congress campaign. In 2015, my passion for politics led me to enroll in the Women’s Campaign School at Yale University. This non-partisan, issue-neutral leadership program is designed to increase the number and influence of women in office around the globe. I connected with women candidates and had the opportunity to observe electoral practices in both Japan and the United Kingdom. Most recently, I was recruited to be the finance director for the highest targeted House of Delegates election in Virginia, sending the 1st public defender to the Virginia legislature. I currently, I work as an English teaching & culture teacher in France. Competitively selected by the French Ministry of Education, I provided English language instruction and promoted creative, innovative cross-cultural understanding in the French public school system. an English teaching & culture teacher in France.
