CETRO is the ACE Regional Centre for South East Asia.

CETRO is a non profit organization that aspires to strengthen idea and institution of election as well as to spread the idea of an honest and fair election through the election system reform. Established in August 1999, currently CETRO endeavors to provide political education to the society. Through research and publication, CETRO hopes to be able to contribute ideas and recommendation to the election system reform.

Scope of countries:

As an ACE Regional Centre, CETRO is responsible for the following countries:

·         Viet Nam

CETRO’s activities include education to strengthen society’s awareness of the importance of election and the role of society to achieve a democratic election. Such training and education programs are conducted together with other organizations and mass media designed for students, civil society organizations, teachers, government officials, election officers, law specialists, women groups, and other groups.

Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, CETRO is an organization that aims to spread policy reform and election legislation in Indonesia. These advocacy activities involve the action of lobbying to government officials, political parties’ officer, and the member of the House of Representatives, in which they are based on researches and input gathered from public.

Through its involvement with the ACE Electoral Knowledge Network, CETRO contributes in research and support, as well as to promote ACE in the field of election for the Southeast Asia region.
