Peace agreements

“In post-conflict countries, the peace agreement may stipulate conditions for elections. If so, it is important that the agreement be crafted and implemented with a gender perspective that ensures the protection of and respect for the human rights of women as they relate to the electoral system, as specified in United Nations Security Council resolution 1325” on Women, Peace and Security (2000).[1]
