تعليقات b) Eligible citizens can be nominated for elections by a political party or a group of legally constituted political parties. Each party list must contain a number of candidates equal to the number of seats to be filled. Each candidate must pay a deposit of 100 000 CFA (152.5 euro) to the Public Treasury. If the candidate obtains at least 5% of the votes, the deposit is fully reimbursed.

تعليقات Printing of voter cards, ballots, public notices and other costs are covered by the State. Campaign expenses are party (30%) covered by the State. For legislative elections, the maximum reimbursable amount is ten million FCFA (15,245 euro) if the party list or the candidate obtain at least 10% of votes cast. In addition, political parties receive direct public funding in the form of an annual grant.

تعليقات The annual grants are included in the general budget of the state and are distributed according to the following principles: - 15% is allocated to political parties that participated in the last presidential, parliamentary or local elections; - 40% is distributed to political parties represented in the National Assembly in proportion to their number of deputies; - 35% is allocated to the political parties represented in municipal councils in proportion to their number of councilors, - 10% is distributed to political parties with women deputies elected to the National Assembly in proportion to the number of elected women MPs.
