Magnus Ohman

Dr Magnus Ohman is the IFES Senior Political Finance Advisor and Director, Regional Europe Office. He has worked with political party and campaign finance issues since the 1990s, with focus on disclosure processes, public funding systems and sustainable solutions. He has worked with political finance initiatives in some 30 countries, and his writings on these subjects have been translated into 18 languages. He is lead author of the political finance module in the BRIDGE curriculum, which is the industry standard on trainings in elections, democracy and governance, as well as the IFES curriculum on Training in Detection and Enforcement (TIDE). Dr Ohman served as IFES Country Director in Sierra Leone 2007 – 2008, where he among other things assisted the setting up of the first ever political finance disclosure system in that country. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Uppsala, Sweden.
