I have BA lAW; LLB and LLM degrees and am an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. I joined the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC)in 1998 and am cuurently Senior Manager: Electoral Democracy, Training and Legal Services. As such I am responsible for the following departments viz: -Electoral Democracy Development and Education ( electoral democracy and voter education of the public; outreach and stakeholder management with NGOs, CSOs, FBOs, trade unions, tertiary institutions; mass education projects; special projects such as infusion of electoral democracy into the school curriculum, and the disabled persons sector. - Party Liaison (registration and liaison with political parties, candidate nomination and management of PR (Proportional Representation) vacancies and ward by elections; conflict management; floor crossing. - Voting and Training ( Training of all electoral staff including voting station staff; special voting including overseas voting; election day activity, results capturing and allocation of seats, publication of results. - Legal Services ( all litigation including electoral, civil and labour related; drafting of all contracts including service providers and employment; electoral legislation and Regulations; election related objections and complaints; publication of all Notices. I also am the Chairperson of the National Procurement Committee that oversees the procuremnt of all material, tenders and service providers. I have travelled to a number of counties as election observer and technical assistant and was part of the expert team of the African Union on the Drafting on the AU Charter on Democracy, Governance and Elections
