King Norman Rudi

I am King Norman Rudi, a Senior Electoral Services Officer responsible for Legal and Elections Administration at the Malawi Electoral Commission. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree, Diploma in Law and Diploma in Education, all from the University of Malawi. Apart from this, I have attended a number of courses in Africa, Europe and Asia on Human Rights and Elections issues, Conflict Management and peacekeeping. My current duties and responsibilities include preparation of election calendar; developing plans for the distribution and retrieval of election materials; developing plans for appropriate mode of transport for materials and staff; developing an effective two-way communication plan between field operational staff and the headquarters; preparing regular situation updates on field operations; determining appropriate material requirements for all phases of the electoral process; determining appropriate field staffing requirements for all phases of the electoral process; organizing transport resources for electoral operations; supervision of the delivery, distribution and retrieval of materials national wide; reviewing and development of training materials; create and develop the registration manual; prepare and develop the polling manual, prepare training materials for electoral related activities in liaise with training unit, standardize electoral procedures for the different electoral exercises; reviewing and revising training materials; development of training curriculum and materials; designing Training of Trainers activities; development of effective cascade training national wide; development of monitoring and evaluation tools for cascade and other training programmes; develop training programmes for all members of Commission staff Participating in preparation of elections budgets, monitor, evaluate and direct regional and district training programmes; spearheading Electoral Laws Reform, drafting Contracts pertaining to the Malawi Electoral Commission and attending to all legal matters among other duties.
