Jørgen ElklitPolitical science professor at the University of Aarhus in Denmark. For the last more than 15 years i have also been active as an election and democratisation advisor and consultant (and observer) in 20 countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe. I was an international member of the South African Independent Electoral Commission in 1994 and served in 2002-03 as a member of the South African cabinet's Electoral Task Team. I am also a member of the Board of Directors of EISA (Electoral Institute of Southern Africa) since 1996. My current research interests are: Electoral systems and how they function, election and election administration quality, political parties, voter turnout, electoral behaviour I have published on all these issues.
