Kate Sullivan

Kate has recently finished an assignment as Electoral CTA for UNDP Myanmar, supporting the 2015 elections. She was previously the Electoral CTA for UNDP Yemen after an appointment as the Deputy Chief Electoral Advisor in the UN Electoral Support Team in Libya. From 2011 to 2013 Kate was Chief Technical Adviser to the Central Electoral Commission of Moldova for UNDP. Until March 2011 she was an adviser to the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office on constitutional and electoral reform for the Turks and Caicos Islands. 2008-2010 saw her in the Solomon Islands as the Program Manager for the Electoral System Strengthening Program at the Solomon Islands Electoral Commission, part of the development program of the Regional Assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands. This is a long term program of institutional strengthening and electoral reform covering all aspects of the electoral system. Kate was previously Head of Electoral Administration at the UK Electoral Commission, where she led the Commission’s work in supporting electoral administrators, strategies for the prevention and detection of electoral malpractice and improvements to service delivery. She has over twenty years of practical electoral administration and policy experience and previously worked at the Australian Electoral Commission and International IDEA. She is a graduate of the Australian National University and the School of Oriental & African Studies at the University of London.
