Antonio A. Eduardo Namburete

Eduardo Namburete is the founding dean and now a senior lecturer at Eduardo Mondlane University’s School of Communication and Arts, as well the national coordinator for GenderLinks’ Mozambique and Lusophone Office, which he launched in 2010. Namburete has 25 year of professional experience in media, and five-year experience as Member of Parliament (2005-2010). He has conducted research on issues of governance, elections, gender and media, community development, and has led workshops for journalists from Mozambique, Malawi, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania on women’s rights. He was a member of the MISA governing council from 2000 to 2005. He is experienced in conducting training needs assessments, baseline studies, program evaluations and communication strategies. Nambuerte has a Master’s degree in mass communication from Southern University in Louisiana and a Bachelor’s degree from Methodist University of São Paulo, Brazil.
