Aysha Shujaat

Aysha Shujaat is an electoral and management expert who focuses on providing assistance to democratic institutions in post-conflict and transitional environments. She has around eight years of experience working with international organizations in South Asia, Middle East, and recently Africa. Since 2001 she has been associated with the United Nations, International NGOs and national institutions such as the Independent Election Commission for Iraq (IECI) and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Ms. Aysha has significant experience in managing and implementing country wide projects, supervising large multi-national teams during her various assignments. Her expertise are organization, operations and programme management; participatory processes and stakeholder relations; electoral administration and out-of-country voting. She has been a part of the most historic missions of recent times, including Libya, South Sudan, Iraq and Afghanistan. She was the Country Coordinator for a mission in UAE and Deputy Country Coordinator for a mission in Kenya managing a $2.8 million project. Prior to this she was associated with IFES Pakistan where she worked effectively as the second deputy on the project and the chief of staff of the organization. Over the years she has managed various similar large scale operations and multi-national teams during her assignments. Her association with the United Nations has been in support the humanitarian missions of Iraq and Afghanistan where her focus was on project coordination, inter-agency liaison, information management, and reporting. Aysha Shujaat is a citizen of Pakistan. She holds a Masters in Political Science and is a BRIDGE (Building Resources in Democracy Governance and Elections) certified trainer.
