I am a Senior Student at the University of Liberia, Member of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) and the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL). Present I work for the National Elections Commission (NEC), the Electoral Management Body of the Republic of Liberia as Political Party Coordinator, assigned at the Political Affairs and Observers Coordination Section. DUPTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POLITICAL PARTY COORDINATOR Under the supervision of the Head of Liaison Office, the Coordinating Office performs the following duties and responsibilities: Runs the affairs of the Liaison Office in the absence of the Head of the Director of Political Affairs and Observers Coordination Section; Ensures that at all times, information on existing political parties and aspirants are properly organized and maintained within the office of the Director of Political Affairs and Observers Coordination for easy reference; Monitors and inspects activities and maintains information of political parties on a regular basis on behalf of the Director of Political Affairs and Observers Coordination; Furnishes or keeps the Head of Liaison abreast of the fulfillment of every necessary requirement with regards to proposed political parties and aspirants that may warrant qualification to exist as a legal entity; Collects and registers all application documents submitted by the organizing committees of proposed Political Parties requesting permission for formation/registration on behalf of the Liaison Office; May attend functions of political parties or aspirants in the absence of the Director of Political Affairs and Observers Coordination; Shall perform other functions as the Commission may deem necessary Liaise between the Commission and External Actors such as political parties , Observers organization and Aspirants seeking elected public office; Organize meetings between Commission and External actors (political parties, partners and others; Assist in the development of guidelines and regulations governing political parties and candidates; Receive and review, on behalf of the commission, all application documents submitted by organizing committees of proposed parties and aspirant independent candidates requesting permission to register as political parties and candidates, for onward submission to the Commission for action; Design and maintain appropriate forms and record system on political parties and candidates; Ensure at all times that records of political parties and aspirant candidates are properly maintained; Inspect headquarters and monitor political activities of all registered political parties; and Receive and cause audit of financial records of political parties and candidates; Receive and process candidates’ nomination applications to contest.
