تعليقات The President shall be elected by universal adult suffrage of registered voters in the Republic and shall hold office for a term of six years commencing at noon on the third working in January of the year immediately following the elections. No person shall serve as President for more than two terms. The first round shall be determined by an absolute majority of the valid votes cast. If no candidate obtains an absolute majority (fifty percent plus one vote) in the first ballot, a second ballot shall be conducted on the second Tuesday following the announcement of the results of the first ballot. The two candidates who obtain the highest number of valid votes at the first ballot shall be designated to participate in the run-off election and the candidate who obtains the majority of the valid votes cast at the second ballot is elected.
