Roundtable discussion on 'The Ways of Improving the Activities of the CIS Observation Missions at Elections in CIS Countries' (Belarusian Telegraph, 2010) (Minsk, Belrus, from Apr 28, 2010 11:00 AM to Apr 28, 2010 04:00 PM)
According to Sergei Lebedev, the CIS observation missions are an integral element of the internal electoral monitoring. The CIS Executive Secretary said CIS missions have made considerable progress in developing the methods to monitor election campaigns. Yet, there is a lot of work ahead to make elections really democratic and to ensure full freedom for people to express their will.
OSCE Electoral Observation Mission to Belarus (Belarus, from Nov 15, 2010 09:00 AM to Dec 22, 2010 04:10 PM)
The OSCE was invited to observe the presidential elections in Belarus. In total, 452 observers were deployed on Election Day, representing all of the 44 OSCE participating States. Ambassador Geert-Hinrich Ahrens (Germany) is the Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission.
