Turkmenistan|parliamentary
14 December 2008

125 MPs were elected to the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.  This election followed Constitutional amendments of 26 September 2008, increased the powers of the legislature and limited the President's authority. For more information please, visit the Turkmenistan country page.


Armenia| local government
7 September-26 October 2008

The elections of Community Heads and/or Community Councils were held in the majority of the communities in Armenia.  Parties forming the governmental coalition were the successful in the majority of communities. Azerbaijan| presidential
15 October 2008

The incumbent president Ilham Aliyev won elections with overwhelming majority of votes (about 89% of votes). The main opposition leaders were not participating in elections. For more information please, visit the Azerbaijan country page.

21 May 2008

The ruling party won about 60% of seats in the Parliamentary Elections of Georgia, conducted on 21 May 2008.  The opposition is protesting.  For more information please, visit the Georgian country page.
