Secretariat
The ACE Secretariat is currently under establishment. During this period, an interim ACE Secretariat is hosted by International IDEA on behalf of the ACE Partners. Personnel comprising the ACE Secretariat is based at IDEA’s head office in Stockholm, Sweden.
Head of the ACE Secretariat
Paul Guerin is a Senior Programme Manager for the Electoral Processes Programme at International IDEA. Paul's work for the past 17 years has been primarily focused on electoral assistance and on the provision of advisory services to national electoral institutions, particularly in democratisation processes in transitional and post-conflict countries, in the Middle East, Africa, Eastern Europe and South East Asia for the United Nations, the European Commission and other international organisations.
Technical Services Manager
Peter Wolf is responsible for the technical development of the ACE website and for the Elections and Technology Project at International IDEA. He holds a Masters degree in Telematik from Graz University of Technology, Austria. Before joining IDEA he worked with the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina in various election related technical assistance projects. He worked as a consultant for voter registration projects of various organizations in Albania, DR Congo and Iraq. He also served in EU and OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Missions as voter registration and electronic voting expert.
Thematic Network Facilitator
Ola Pettersson is working as an Assistant Programme Officer at International IDEA. He has been working with IDEA since 2007 in areas such as Capacity Development (BRIDGE), Participation and Voter Registration. Ola holds a Master’s degree in political science from the University of Uppsala, Sweden. His master thesis was a field study of turnout-improving initiatives performed by Swedish municipalities prior to the 2006 Swedish general elections. Ola is an accredited BRIDGE facilitator.
Regional Network Coordinator
Vincent Kearns is originally from Melbourne Australia. Vincent has worked in the ACE team since the beginning of 2007. Before working for the ACE Practitioners' Network Team in Stockholm, Vincent worked for the Australian Government. His duties, amongst other things, creating and maintaining databases that tracked the many people
visiting or migrating to Australia and representing the Government when
dealing with the myriad of different ethnicities that made Australia
their home. Vincent has a degree in Social Science from RMIT University in Melbourne.
Support Staff
Anna Michalkova from Bratislava, Slovakia, joined ACE at the end of August 2009 as an intern, and is currently hired as a research assistant. She is mostly responsible for electoral news as well as the comparative data sections. She is also assisting the Regional Network Coordinator in tasks connected to ACE regional centres. Anna is currently finishing her master's studies in politics and international relations at Uppsala University in Sweden.
