EMBs are required to take into account the specific challenges
that women may confront in the voting process and to take specific measures to
protect against them. To be credible, all registered voters need to have the
opportunity to cast their vote in secret, free from intimidation, and to have
their vote counted as part of the official electoral result.[1]
